Founded in 2014 by Johannesburg creator Rich Mnisi, this brand has spent the last 6 years pushing the seams of contemporary African design while cementing its place on the worldwide fashion stage. From glimmering Swarovski touched masks to some of the most visionary winter warmers of 2020 Rich has managed to captivate audiences with a nuanced perception of proudly South African luxury design.
Holding the spotlight from a lengthy list of media publications such as MULTIPLE renditions of Vogue, Bella Nigeria, ELLE and Highsnobiety (to name but a few) RICH MNISI is continuously as inspired as ever in its expression of bold, unorthodox and proud designs. In all the madness that is ABOVE: Tectonica Blouse & Animal Farm Skirt 2020 it’s undeniable how important it is for the world to embrace the unique excellence of African designers with the same vigour that more Western art forms have been glorified by for centuries. Along with many other African designers using new perspectives of culture to inspire art, the brand takes a wholehearted claim of indisputable African luxury.

The renovated RICH definitions of luxury have been able to captivate veteran luxury buyers while glossing the eyes of a new audience of luxury admirers. Fashion lovers young and old can understand the language of a clothing piece that speaks. RICH MNISI does not only speak but screams to the edge of the earth in a voice unlike anything the luxury fashion industry has seen before. I myself have spent hours gawking at every detail of RICH MNISI. From perfectly put together Instagram images to captivating shows like the runway show they put on for New York Fashion week last year, what a flex! So like many have already said, if you don’t appreciate the depth of everything that is Rich Mnisi: You love, are not part of the target market. HM
